Telstra looks to IT Magnet for its Fault-Reporting system development
Telstra required a software-based solution to manage its day-to-day fault reporting process. When a fault occurs, a field staff sends an SMS to a central mobile phone number which is intercepted and recorded by a central computer system. The staff located in the office then accesses the details of the fault from their PC, works on a resolution and sends progress-status to different groups.
It was imperative that the system handled large volume of transactions on a daily basis. Also, due to the mission-critical nature of the system the up-time had to be close to 100%.
